Azerbaijan has been announced as the winner in the nomination "Sustainability Awards 2022 - Protection of Cultural Heritage" held annually by China's "Voyage Magazine".

Florian Sengstschmid, Chief Executive Officer of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board noted that to receive such an award from "Voyage Magazine" was an honour for the organization. He mentioned that the sustainable development of tourism begins with the involvement of the tangible heritage of the destination as well as the local community in the promotion of tourism.  

He emphasized that the promotion of cultural heritage and sustainable tourism practices is one of the important priorities for the Azerbaijan Tourism Board and the institution decisively pursuing its efforts in these directions.

“The Sustainability Awards 2022” is one of the largest and most popular travel events in China. The campaign's official hashtag reached more than 32 million 485 thousand people during the campaign period.

Other winners include the National Tourism Organization of Serbia, the Spanish Tourism Institute ("Turespaña"), the Hong Kong Tourism Board and the Italian National Tourism Board.
